One day a lady from the audience spoke up and said
that the LORD had shown her about crib death. She had
been studying on owls and why we should not have them
in our homes. The LORD showed her Isaiah 34:14 in the
New American Standard; "And the desert creatures
shall meet with the wolves (howling creatures), the
hairy goat (demon) also cry to its kind; Yes, the
Night Monster (Lilith - female night witch - vampire
who goes after infants - crib death) shall settle
there and shall find herself a resting place."
As she studied this chapter and looked up in other
editions, the LORD quickened to her heart that the
night monster (Lilith) was the cause of crib death.
In the dictionary, Lilith is a female night witch, a
vampire who goes after infants, especially boy babies.
She went on to say that either her sister or a friend
was a nurse and had told her that usually this
happens to very healthy babies.
Several years ago we had friends who walked in and
found their 10-month old baby dead in his crib.
Doctors could give no reason for it. Since the
Campmeeting another lady who was attending the camp,
has gone to the library and looked up everything on
this subject. We believe that all of these stuffed
toys that are coming in from heathen nations carry
many evil powers. In Deuteronomy 7:26, "Neither
shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house,
lest thou be accursed thing like it: but thou shalt
utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it;
for it is a cursed thing."
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear and take
precaution by cleaning out your homes and your baby's
room of these abominable things. (Night lamps made
like an owl, elves, smurfs, fairies, etc., foreign
made toys which may have been dedicated to a false
god.) Allow the Holy Spirit to show you what may be
bringing evil spirits into your house. Break the
curses that are inherited according to Galatians 3:13.
Is it possible that this stalker of infants is
recorded for us in Isaiah 34:14, "the night
monster shall settle there and shall find HERSELF a
resting place?" Since our final authority is
always God's Word, we turn to the Bible for
information that might apply to the mystery of crib
death.
The Hebrew word "lil'ith" in Isaiah 34:14
is translated in the king James Version of the Bible
as "screech owl," in the New International
Version as "night creatures", in the
Revised Standard Version as "night hag",
and in the Amplified and New American Standard
Version it is translated as "night monster".
In Jewish tradition, Lilith was the CHIEF OF THE
DEMONESSES, princess of the succubi (female demons
who seduce men in their sleep) Talmudic literature
and Jewish tradition describe Lilith as the first
wife of Adam, but she refused to submit to his
authority and was turned out of Eden and replaced by
Eve. To take vengeance on Adam, she tried to ensnare
the children of Eve.
Wierus and other demonologists reported that she
sought to destroy new-born infants and for this
reason the Jews used charms and amulets against her
and wrote a formula (the names of the angels Sanvi,
Sansanvi, and Semangelaf) on the four corners of a
birth chamber to drive Lilith away. The word "lullaby"
is thought to have derived from an incantation
designed to repel her.
Lilith is depicted as a female demon who haunts
desolate places in company with such goulish beasts
as wild cats, jackals, hyenas, and satyrs. She is
named in the cuneiform inscriptions as an attendant
of Namtar, the Babylonian god of plagues. Lilith
appears on a Canaanite charm, and likewise in post-biblical
Jewish literature s the child-stealing witch Lilith
of world-wide folklore. She is identified as "the
flying one" on the same eighth century B.C.
magical plaque which contains the Arslan Tash
inscription. A carved stone Sumerian cult plaque
shows her as having the feet and wings of an owl,
standing flanked on each side by a large owl. Lilith
is usually associated with unclean winged creatures
and the bedlam caused by the screech owl.
Crib death, or SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome),
is the major cause of death in infants after the
first month of life. Much medical research has been
done to find the cause of this silent killer, but the
precise cause or causes of these tragic deaths have
eluded medical science. All that is know is that the
baby just stops breathing, usually after several
hours of deep sleep. There is little (if any) sign of
a struggle. In fact, it remains a mystery how a
healthy baby could die with no sign of illness. Even
autopsies have been unable to find the cause of death
in most cases.
According to an article in a medical journal,
among the infants who face a high risk of crib death
are those who have a family history of SIDS,(especially
brothers and sisters), seizure disorder associated
with apnea (lack of breathing), Hyaline membrane
disease, or prematurity. Male children are more
likely to die from crib death than females, and the
rate among siblings of victims is four times higher
than usual.
Crib death is certainly not new in our century.
Records indicate that crib death occurred at least as
frequently in the 18th and 19th centuries as today,
and is recorded as far back as the Old Testament of
the Bible. (The account in I Kings 3:19 of a new-born
infant dying while sleeping could have been crib
death, yet it may have been attributed to "overlaying"
by his mother for lack of a better explanation).
Is there a connection between SIDS and the
demoness Lilith? The reputation of the Lilith of
Jewish tradition would indicate, to those who believe
in demons or evil spirits, that she might be the
cause of the deaths of thousands of innocent babies.
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And take
precaution by binding this demon spirit in Jesus name
and breaking any inherited curse in the family line
according to Galatians 3:13. Jesus became a curse so
we don't have to bear it.
