Leviticus 26:21, "If you walk contrary unto ME, and will not hearken unto ME; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins."

The Greek word for plague, "Plege," also means; stripe, wound, sickness, disease, scourge, stroke, suffering, famine, barrenness, boils, tumor, failure of crops, business, cattle, oppression, destruction, poverty, wars, strife, any calamity and many other human sufferings - all considered plagues.

Deuteronomy 28:58-61, "If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may FEAR this glorious and fearful name; THE LORD THY GOD; (Jesus is His Name), the Lord will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, (Sins of the fathers, Exodus 20:5, "visiting the iniquity of the gathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate ME or that do not obey My commandments"), even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sickness, and of long continuance. Moreover, HE will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt (or the place or land of sin), which you were afraid of; and they shall cleave unto you. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon you, until you be destroyed."

I wonder, do the plagues of Egypt (the place of sin), follow you?   If so, why?

14 CAUSES OF PLAGUES - and there may be more:

1) Not listening to God: Exodus 15:26, "If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God."

Leviticus 26:14, "If you will not hearken unto ME."

Deuteronomy 28:15, "It shall come to pass, if you will not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your GOD."

2)   Failing to do the right: Exodus 15:26, "And will do that which is right in His sight."

3)   Breaking the commandments: Exodus 15:26, "Give ear to HIS commandments, and keep all HIS statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians."

4)   Despising God’s statutes: Leviticus 26:15, "If you shall despise MY statutes."

5)   Abhoring GOD’S judgments: Leviticus 26:15, "If your soul abhors MY judgments, so that you will not do all MY commandments."

6)   Breaking God’s covenants: Leviticus 26:15, "You break MY covenant."

7)   Walking contrary to GOD: not hearkening unto GOD; will get seven times more plagues: Leviticus 26:21, 27-28, "If you walk contrary unto ME, and will not hearken unto ME; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins." "If you will not for all this hearken unto ME, but walk contrary unto ME;" "then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I; even I, will chastise you SEVEN times for your sins."

8)   Sinning against GOD: Deuteronomy 28:20, "the wickedness of your doings."

9)   Forsaking GOD: Deuteronomy 28:20, "Whereby you have forsaken ME."

10)  Rebellion against GOD: Deuteronomy 28:45, "Because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD your GOD, to keep HIS commandments and HIS statutes which HE commanded you."

11) Refusing to be thankful for all GOD’S blessings: Deuteronomy 28:47, "Because thou servedst not the LORD your GOD with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things."

12)  Refusing to observe all GOD’S laws: Deuteronomy 28:58-61, "If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD YOUR GOD; then the LORD will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sickness, and of long continuance. Moreover HE will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall cleave unto you. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon you, until you be destroyed."

13)  Adding unto GOD’S word: Revelation 22:18, "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, GOD shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book."

14) Taking away from GOD’S word: Deuteronomy 4:2, "You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your GOD which I command you."

Deuteronomy 12:32, "What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: You shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it."

Proverbs 30:5-6, "Every word of GOD is pure: HE is a shield unto them that put their trust in HIM."

Revelation 22:19, "If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this book."

I wonder, am I guilty of any of these charges? Are our fathers guilty? Is the body of Christ as a unit guilty? Are we all carrying the sins of our fathers as well as our own? There is so much sickness and problems in the body of Christ and things do not happen without a reason as Proverbs 26 and the last half of verse two tells us, "so the curse causeless shall not come."

We need to pray as Daniel of old did. Father, forgive the sins of my fathers and my sins, wash me and cleanse me in the blood of Jesus that I and my family will not be partakers of the plagues that are written in YOUR Word. Thank you, Father. Amen.
