Thoughts From My Notebook That I Ponder????

NATION

I wonder if we as Christians in America are being called to give account of our stewardship over this nation. Will we be as Belshazzar, weighed in the balances and found wanting? Are we fulfilling our responsibility as good stewards to God over a nation which He has given the wealth of the world to, and to its government, which was entrusted to our founding fathers? A land they called, "the great wilderness," a place that they said was set apart for the Glory of God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.  A land and people that has fulfilled many Bible prophecies. I wonder and ponder our responsibility???

Some say and are teaching that Christians should not be in government, yet our forefathers came here so they could have a government based on God and the Bible. Paul tells us in I Timothy 2:1-3, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, (Presidents) and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour."

If we do not have men full of the Holy Ghost in the offices of the land we cannot lead a quiet and peaceable life in all Godliness and honesty. For without God, satan rules and all we have is corruption. In Acts 6, the disciples chose businessmen full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom to serve. Our elected officials are appointed to SERVE and we should to the best of our ability see to it that they are FULL of the Holy Ghost, so that America can fulfill its destiny unto God through the Lord, Jesus Christ.  A people for His name’s sake, "One Nation Under God."

In Deuteronomy 28:1, we are told, "And it shall come to pass, If thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth." Verse 10 says, "And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee." Since our beginning all the nations of the earth have been afraid of us and our flag - "Old Glory." Verse 12 says, "The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land In His season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow."

Now tell me what nation has lent to many and borrowed from none? Today there are one hundred and thirty-three nations we have loaned to and they still owe us and this has nothing to do with the World Bank loans. And we have not borrowed, from a single one. America is the fulfillment of this promise.

Isaiah 42:5-7 says, "Thus saith God the Lord, He that created the heavens, and stretched them out; He that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; He that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I, the Lord have called thee in rightousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the heathen; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house."

What nation supplies ninety percent of the Gospel to the world? America. Who then is the light to the nations? There are many more Scriptures to substantiate the teaching of our Pilgrim fathers concerning the, "LORD OF THE GREAT WILDERNESS," but I ponder the thought, "Are we weighed in the balances and found wanting, or is there yet time for God’s people to arise?"

Are you sighing and crying between the porch and the altar for the abominations that are in the land??? Are you putting. Godly men in places of authority??? Are you??? What are you doing about it??? Is it true, that "IN GOD WE TRUST???"
